On a computer that’s wired or wireless to the modem, open a web browser and type on the address bar 192.168.0.1 and press enter.
Use the following steps to customize your SSID and/or your Key/Passphrase:
- Verify that the radio button On is selected.
- Enter a new name for your SSID if you wish, or note down the one entered. It is the name for the wireless network you will join with wireless devices.
- Select Use Custom Security/KeyPassphrase and enter at least 8 characters composed of a combination of small and/or capital letters and numbers. Take note of the preferred Passphrase since it is Key sensitive, it has to be typed as it appears (Uppercase and Lowercase matters)
- Click the Apply button at the bottom of the page to save your changes.
Note: After saving the changes SSID, Passphrase or both, all wirelessly connected devices will be disconnected. Just check for the available wireless network connection and look for the New/Existing wireless network you want to join and type in the Passphrase you made (refer to step 3).
